Egress Services:
FAQs about the KnowBe4 Acquisition

Why am I seeing the KnowBe4 name and logo instead of Egress?

KnowBe4 acquired Egress in 2024. As part of moving to the KnowBe4 brand, you’ll start to see the KnowBe4 logo in place of the Egress logo, and the color scheme will change to KnowBe4’s orange branding.

This is a legitimate change. The secure email service itself continues to operate as before, protecting your sensitive information.

Has the security of my secure emails or data changed?

No. Your data privacy and security remain fully protected. The way your secure emails and data are encrypted, stored, and accessed has not changed. You can continue using the service safely as you always have.

Do I need to do anything differently to access Egress secure emails?

No changes are needed on your part. You should continue to:

  • Receive secure emails as normal
  • Log in the same way you always have
  • Trust that your data remains protected

However, you will see some branding updates (logo and color) and a few new contact details (see below).

What if I use other Egress services, like Secure Web Forms or Workspace?

If you use other Egress services, such as Secure Web Forms or Workspace, those services remain fully operational and unaffected by the acquisition. The only change you may notice is that login pages and other branding elements will display the KnowBe4 logo and the new orange color scheme.

However, if your organization has applied custom branding to these services, that branding will remain in place. Your existing data and how you use these services remain the same unless your organization requests specific updates.

Will Egress web addresses (URLs) change?

The Egress domain (*.egress.com) will continue to be used for secure email services and web access. For example:

  • reader.egress.com (for viewing secure messages)
  • other *.egress.com URLs you already use

If any URLs change in the future, we will communicate this clearly and officially.

Will support contacts change?

Yes. The support email address will now be: support@knowbe4.com

You may also see links to KnowBe4’s website or resources in future communications. Always check that you’re clicking on official *.egress.com or knowbe4.com domains.

How can I tell this isn’t a phishing attempt?

It’s wise to stay cautious, especially when handling sensitive information. To help confirm legitimacy:

  • Check that web links go to official *.egress.com or knowbe4.com domains.
  • Look for the official acquisition announcement here: Acquisition News
  • Be aware of the branding change to KnowBe4 logos and orange colors.
  • When in doubt, contact your sender directly or email support@knowbe4.com for confirmation.
Who is KnowBe4?

KnowBe4 is a global leader in security awareness training and phishing prevention. By joining KnowBe4, Egress continues to enhance its security services while maintaining the same trusted technology you rely on for protecting sensitive data

I’m still unsure. How can I get help?

If you have doubts about an Egress secure email or how to use the service:

  • Email: support@knowbe4.com
  • Visit official sites ending in *.egress.com or knowbe4.com

Never share personal details or credentials unless you’re certain you’re on a legitimate website.

I want to know if the service does change.

Any changes will be communicated. To ensure you are kept abreast of changes, you can subscribe to any future updates at https://www.knowbe4.com/legal/website-privacy-notice

Remember: If you receive a secure email that looks suspicious, always verify with the sender or contact support before opening links or attachments.
